The vase by Karena Lam is paired with a composition by Olivier Cong, proposing a conversation between tactile mediums. 

Each moon jar captures processes of touch and collaboration with clay, while shaping unique acoustic environments to contain and amplify the sonic compositions. Extending the totemic and folkloric imaginary of the vessels, the compositions explore folk and urban singing, as well as humming. These vocal practices return to the body as a primary medium, evoking vibration and transmission. 

The work is offered as a set of the vase, a USB containing the soundtrack, and a transducer speaker.

*Each item has been created with hand finishing, and all pieces express their uniqueness of character through use.
